Can I visit another EU country with the postal receipt of poste italiane?
If you are waiting for your first residence permit and you dot have a valid visa type D+C you cannot travel to another EU country but you have to wait for your electronic residence permit.
If you are waiting for the renewal, with the original expired residence permit and the receipt of poste italiane of renewal request you can go home in your country of origin and come back taking a direct flight Italy- country of origin and viceversa. It is not allowed to transit and travel in other Schengen countries.

室友回国的时候转机阿布扎比 就被人要居留卡或者临时居留 这个真看人品 建议不要随便冒风险

自己找到一个似乎比较正式的答案，供大家参考，看来是来回都得直飞啊。。。
还要提醒第一次申请居留的同学们，如果签证过期，居留还没拿到，拿条子回国后再返回意大利要再申请签证的可能性很大，直飞也不行。因为下文中只提到了更新居留是可以的。。。
